CORRUPTION

CORRUPTION is a dishonest, untruthful or decptive behaviour in which someone uses power in order to get an advantage for himself.

TYPES OF CORRUPTION

1) BRIBERY: is dishonestly giving money to someone in order to persuade hime or her to do something that will help the person who has given the money dishonestly.


2) MISAPPROPRIATION: is an act of dishonestly taking something, money or possessions, that one has been trusted to keep safe.

3) EMBEZZLEMENT: is an act which a person steals money from where he works.

4) LAUNDERING: is an act in which a person puts money illegally obtained into legal businesses and bank accounts in order to hide or use it.

5) SCAM: is a clever but dishonest plan which is usually meant to get money.

6) SCANDAL: is a behaviour or events that are considered to be immoral or schocking.

7) SYPHON: is to dishonestly take money from business account or office account to use it for a purpose for which it was not intended.

8) FRAUD: is a method of illegally getting money from someone after using clever and complicated methods.


CONSEQUENCES OF CORRUPTION
a. Agricultural activities, industries and business ventures remain inefficient and unproductive.
b. Large number of people faces ceaseless massive illiteracy, stark ignorance, grinding poverty, life-threatening diseases and general insecurity.
c. Corruption has brought rural development to a permanent standstill.
d. Abandonment of state and federal projects
e. The abandoned building became hide-outs for criminals.
f. Public funds are wasted.
g. Corruption destroys goals, principles, values, usefulness and dignity of work.
